Christophe est né à Paris en 1971.

En 1996, il intègre un atelier collectif, à Lyon, fréquenté par une vingtaine de plasticien-sculpteur, tous auto-didactes et c'est là qu'il fera la rencontre du sculpteur de marbre Robert Thouret, du jeune peintre Joseph Camara et du joueur d'echec John Sammut.

En 1998, Christophe rencontre le peintre Bosniaque Mirsad Hadzikaric dans le sud-Est de la France, marquant un tournant dans son approche accidentelle de la peinture. Ils ont travaillé ensemble dans un mouvement que Mirsad avait créé, et appelé «SCARECROW» et, ensemble, avec d'autres peintres, dont David Granata, ils ont écrit un manifeste intitulé « Beauté sans élégance ». De nombreuses expositions feront parlé de ce mouvement, à Paris, dans le sud est de la France, et aussi à Sarajevo, lors du festival d'Art de 2002. Ce fut une véritable école d'Art, loin des écoles académiques, avec un manifeste exprimant à la fois des principes d'expression comme l'aération, l'agitation saisie, le non-anecdotique, et aussi un manifeste prononçant un engagement fort face à un climat social ou l'Art est mort, contaminé par le marchandisme d'un système déshumanisé et l'hégémonie de la décoration et des modes de pensées conceptuels. En 2002, le mouvement sera amené en justice avec l'affaire de la galerie censuré à Saint Tropez, et sera relaxé par le tribunal de justice de Draguignan.

Après ces cinq années dans le mouvement Scarecrow, Christophe a voulu suivre un chemin plus personnel, et il est reparti à 0, poussé à s'évader de toute influence …

En 2006, le marchand Charles Zalber le découvre et décide de l'exposer au Grand Palais, au milieu de sa collection des peintres comme Basquiat, Tapiès, et des estampes de Picasso et dessins de Cocteau. Il sera exposé avec la Galerie Lucie & Silegman lors des expositions de Strasbourg en 2007. La mort de Charles Zalber, trois ans plus tard, mettra un therme à cette aventure parisienne.

Au cours d'une période d'ermite dans les contreforts des Pyrénées, Christophe a commencé à intégrer la sculpture dans sa peinture; des formes créées avec des chiffons, des morceaux de bois, des bouts de ficelles ou d'autres matériaux trouvés et amassés lors de divers pèlerinages, y compris la longue marche vers Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle en 2005 et 2011.

Il a continué de voyager entre Asie et Orient et s'est trouvé inspiré par certaines pratiques Taoistes, boudhistes et chamaniques jusqu'à se sentir ''comme à la maison'' dans des enseignements de «Balanced View».

Essentiellement, cet "Art" est sa pratique quotidienne ... une dévotion et un engagement qui surpassent les concepts d'echec et de réussite et qui partagent pour de vrai, sans affaire de propagande ou d'intêret individuel.

Là ou un monde se calme, une humanité se lève.

BIOGRAPHY

Christophe was born in Paris in 1971.

In 1996, he joined a collective workshop in Lyon, attended by about twenty artists, all self-taught and it is there that he will meet the sculptor Robert Thouret, the young painter Joseph Camara and the chess player John Sammut.

In 1998, Christophe met the Bosnian painter Mirsad Hadzikaric in the south-east of France, marking a turning point in his accidental approach to painting. They worked together in a movement that Mirsad had created, and called "SCARECROW" and, together with other painters, including David Granata, they wrote a manifesto titled "Beauty without elegance". Many exhibitions will speak about this movement, in Paris, in the South East of France, and also in Sarajevo, during the Art Festival of 2002. It was a real School of Art, far from the academic schools, with a a manifesto expressing at the same time principles of expression such as aeration, agitated seizure, non-anecdotal, and also a manifesto pronouncing a strong commitment in the face of a social climate where Art died, contaminated by the commercialism of a dehumanized system and the hegemony of decoration and conceptual modes of thought. In 2002, the movement will be brought to justice with the case of the censored gallery in Saint Tropez, and will be released by the court of Justice of Draguignan.

After these five years in the Scarecrow movement, Christophe wanted to follow a more personal path, and he went back to 0, pushed to escape from any influence ...

In 2006, the merchant Charles Zalber discovers it and decides to expose it to the Grand Palais, in the middle of his collection of painters like Basquiat, Tapiès, and Picasso and Cocteau's drawings. It will be exhibited with the Galerie Lucie & Silegman during exhibitions in Strasbourg in 2007. The death of Charles Zalber, three years later, will put a therm to this Parisian adventure.

During a period of hermit in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Christophe began to integrate sculpture into his painting; shapes created with rags, pieces of wood, bits of string or other materials found and amassed during various pilgrimages, including the long march to Santiago de Compostela in 2005 and 2011.

He continued to travel between Asia and the Orient and was inspired by certain Taoist, Buddhist and Shamanic practices until he felt "like home" in Balanced View teachings.

Essentially, this "Art" is his daily practice ... a devotion and commitment that surpasses the concepts of failure and success and that share for real, without propaganda or personal interest.

Where a world is outshined, a humanity is rising.
